First off, what the heck is a Signature System? And do you really need one?

Quick note: I use these terms interchangeably: Signature System, system, process, and framework. Want to make sure my lingo is clear.

OK, so a Signature System is your roadmap, your recipe, your guidebook for helping your clients to achieve the results that they want.

That’s simple enough, right?

As a coach, you likely follow a similar process with each of your clients.

You may not have realized it, but you do. Your signature system, or framework, is a combination of knowledge, expertise, strategies and techniques that help your clients achieve the desired results in the shortest amount of time possible.

There are a few really awesome reasons that you need to reflect on your process and outline your system. (And, by the way, it doesn’t have to be a set of sequential steps. One of my clients works with her clients and they use her four pillars as guide posts on the journey together. My Fast Track to Clients program is an example of a system, too.)

So, before you invest time, your most precious asset, into outlining the framework that you follow with your clients, I imagine that you want to know what benefits you’ll get from doing it.

You’ll be seen as an expert.

A system for achieving the desired results over and over and over again with your clients gives you instant credibility.

And, having a plan is good.

Admit it! We all love plans and when we decide to work with someone, we want to know that the person supporting us has a plan for getting us from point A to point B. The buyer has an immediate sense of confidence in the service or product when a plan is involved. (Confidence = good.)

 

You stand out from your competition.

It’s a major differentiator. Most of the clients I work with start out struggling to answer the question, “why are you different?” Your system, or process, is an answer to that question.

You aren’t just a “health coach” or a “business coach” when you have system that is uniquely yours.

Your life becomes immensely easier.

If you feel like you are “winging it” with each client, then you’re in need of a Signature System.

Having a specific process that you know works gives you the framework from which to operate to support your clients. You don’t have to come up with a brand new strategy for each person. Nope, you have a system that can be tweaked, if needed, but the framework is there. You know exactly where to start with each client and where to go next.

Spaghetti is a food, not a strategy.

If this is just a “side gig,” then maybe you don’t need systems or strategies. If this is your “real deal,” then it’s imperative that you outline systems so you can grow with grace and ease. Investing time to do this is a clear sign that you’re taking the reigns as the leader of your business and taking responsibility for your growth and impact. (Hint: this is big.)

 

You can make more money.

More income translates to a bigger impact.

When you have a Signature System, you can very easily create multiple streams of income. (Do I have your attention now?)

Each step in your system (there should be between 3-10 steps) can be broken down into smaller steps. You can create programs based on digging deep into each step, individually, or offer a course that touches, briefly, on each step.

Now… repurposing your content seems easier, doesn’t it?

When you’re consistently working towards the same goal and within the same framework, you gain clarity on what to create and how you can reuse what you already have. Think e-books, online courses, workbooks, webinars, group programs, individual support… even the folks who aren’t ready to invest in your highest level of support can still become customers.

 

You get great testimonials.

When your customers are happy and you consistently deliver amazing results, you’ll receive powerful testimonials. Having a Signature System allows you to create amazing results for your clients time after time. Happy clients = happy life, right?
